Historic gasworks Almost 8 m of seating, without one anchor in the building
The premiere was sold out when the first design drawings were made with the architect. The location: a historic, listed gasworks built on a curve. The condition: no anchoring, no intervention in the building. BÜTEC planned the grandstand landscape, calculated the structure, produced it in just under 10 weeks and installed it.

The starting point
Listed, round, fixed date three conditions for one grandstand
No intervention in the building
Heritage protection required: no anchoring, no intervention in the building. The grandstand had to stand freely.
Built on a curve
The gasworks is round. A standard grandstand does not fit a room like this.
Premiere already sold out
The tickets were sold before the first design drawing existed. The date was fixed.
The solution
Two construction phases, series parts plus custom work
Planning, structural calculations, production and installation came from one source.
Trapezoid front grandstand
Up to 4.60 m high, with FOH positions for the technical crew integrated at the sides.
Stage plateau with headroom below
Directly next to it, a plateau of approx. 250 m², with full headroom underneath and designed as a catering area.
Second storey almost 8 m high
In the second construction phase, an upper grandstand on top, following the trapezoid shape, almost 8 m high in total.
Access from behind
Integrated stairways lead from inside the structure up to the seats.
Steel columns with base plates
Steel columns with base plates made to measure and BÜTEC four-point trusses with special adapters carry the system, without being anchored in the building.
