The dividing curtain hangs under the roof and moves down at the turn of a key switch. In the divided hall, school classes and clubs train at the same time; for a competition, the whole hall is quickly free again. Double-skin walls of tear-resistant polyester fabric, flame-retardant to B1, with a safety catch and safety limit switches. Built to DIN 18032-4, the German standard for sports halls.

A suspended load, built safe
Every system has a safety catch and safety limit switches. The curtain moves in a controlled way at no more than 10 cm/s.
Little space under the roof
With half-width strips, the folded curtain is only about 35 to 40 cm high. The technology is planned around ventilation ducts, cable trays and lights.
Escape routes stay open
Cut-outs and pass doors at the end of the curtain keep escape routes clear where needed.
How it works
Shaft, belts, lifting tube How the curtain moves up and down
A geared motor winds up lifting belts. The lifting tube at the bottom of the curtain raises it and folds the fabric as it goes up.
Continuous shaft
The shaft runs across the full width of the curtain, in maintenance-free ball bearings every 3.5 to 4.0 m. Belt forks wind the lifting belts directly onto it.
Central winding shaft
The shaft sits in the middle, at right angles to the curtain. The belts are redirected and wound onto belt drums – useful when the roof space is tight.
Fixed to the roof structure
On the side of the roof beam or suspended from it: for double steel beams, glulam beams, with a top fascia or under a suspended ceiling.
Operation
With a key switch, so that only authorised staff can move the system. Geared motor 400 V, reversing contactor 230 V.

How much sound does the curtain block?
In the laboratory, 22 dB with the standard material and up to 26 dB(A) with multi-layer fabric and a velour surface. To be honest: in the hall the value is clearly lower, because sound also travels around the curtain. Side sound locks improve it, and the material shortens the reverberation time.
There is little space under our roof. Will it still work?
Usually yes. With half-width strips the folded curtain is only about 35 to 40 cm high, and the central winding shaft needs little room along the curtain. Our team chooses the solution to fit around ventilation ducts, cable trays and lights.
How do people get through the curtain in an emergency?
Where escape routes need it, cut-outs or simple pass doors are built into the end of the curtain.
Are PVC-free curtains available?
Yes. The polyester fabric is available with a PVC or a PVC-free coating.
Can a ball net be combined with it?
Yes. The ball safety net hangs above, the dividing curtain below, up to a height of about 2.30 m.
