From 2 × 1 m stage platforms, also called stage podiums, you build stages, grandstands, choir risers and catwalks in any shape. How fast the height is set, and how many hands it takes, depends on the build principle underneath: plug-in legs, frames, scissors or a motor. Every series is designed for a distributed load of 750 kg/m² and tested with a 1.7 safety factor.

Carried up from the basement
Stage sets go back and forth several times a week. Each time it takes people, time and healthy backs.
Every event needs a different height
40 cm for the school play, 80 cm for the concert, one step for the lectern. Without the right mechanism, every set-up starts from zero.
Loose parts, little storage
Legs, clamps and decks must be sorted, counted and stored somewhere. Ideally flat, and without extra boxes for small parts.
The responsibility stays with you
Council meeting or graduation ball: the stage must carry the load, must not wobble and must pass the inspector's check.
More helpers do not solve this. The mechanism under the deck decides how many hands your changeover needs.
How it works
Four principles, one grid Choose how your stage reaches its height
All BÜTEC platforms share the 2 × 1 m base size, the load rating and one accessory range. Only the way up is different – and with it the effort per changeover.
Plug-in leg: any height, any shape
Push the legs into the corners and clamp them by handwheel, without tools. Fixed hooks hold the next platform during set-up. The classic for mobile stages and grandstands.
Frame: long spans
Frames up to 6 m long bridge rows of seats and aisles. The Master profile is 166 mm high – exactly one step of classic theatre rake.
Scissor: the legs are built in
The scissor folds out of the platform and locks at 20, 40, 60, 80 or 100 cm. No loose legs, and the platforms stack flat.
Servo Stage: flush in the floor, no power
Installed permanently in a shallow floor pit. Gas springs carry part of the weight, and the platform is raised from above with a key.
Motor: stage sets at the push of a button
SoloDrive One moves steplessly to any height, alone or in groups. Stage layouts can be saved and recalled.

All values per 2 × 1 m unit. Heights without bracing as stated in the data sheets; above 100 cm, leg clamps are added, and above 150 cm the structural calculations for the build apply. Point loads are calculated separately.

Before you decide What venue managers ask us most often
Which platform series suits our hall?
That depends on how often you change the set-up and where the stage stays between events. If it is set up and taken down, and should be free in shape and height: plug-in leg platforms. If heights change often and no loose legs should sit in storage: scissor platforms. If nobody should carry the stage at all: Servo Stage or SoloDrive One, installed permanently and flush with the floor. The series comparison above shows all series side by side.
How much load does a platform carry?
All series are designed for a uniformly distributed load of 750 kg/m² and tested with a 1.7 safety factor. Point loads, for example from piano castors or truss supports, are calculated separately.
Do we need an inspection book or structural calculations for our stage?
That depends on size, height, use and the building regulations in your country. For complete installations, grandstands and set-ups outside our assembly instructions, we supply the matching structural calculations, construction approval or TÜV inspection book for temporary structures.
Will new platforms work with the ones we already have?
Compact is fully compatible with the Standard series. The Eco profile connects to almost any other brand's stage without special clamps. And for older BÜTEC platforms we supply spare parts, including leg corners made before 1995.
How much storage space do the platforms need?
A Standard plug-in leg platform is around 9.5 cm high when stacked, and legs and clamps fit inside two stacked platforms. One transport trolley holds up to 18 platforms. Servo Stage and SoloDrive One need no storage at all: they stay flush in the floor.
Are there other sizes and shapes than 2 × 1 m?
Yes. Every series is available in custom sizes, custom shapes (round, angled, triangular) and with the surface you choose. Our design department plans them in CAD, and we build them in our own factory in Mettmann.
